Enrique Vázquez Tatay, PhD
(CEO)

As a member of the company's founding triad, Dr. Vázquez has provided the direction and leadership necessary for the continued growth and success of Neocodex International.


With a doctoral degree in pharmacy (concentrating in molecular and cellular biology), and masters degrees both in economics and business management, Dr. Vázquez' experience has proved invaluable to the guidance of the company's expansion.


Previously serving as the Director of Sales for Biomedal Inc., and as the Regional Director for Organon Española, Dr. Vázquez brings to NeoCodex a background of diverse cross-industrial experience. Additionally accomplished as a contributing author to many scientific books and publications, Dr. Vázquez remains involved throughout the scientific community by teaching courses at the university, and delivering lectures at countless conferences and seminars each year.

Agustin Ruiz Laza MD, PhD
(Medical / Scientific Director)

With a combined MD/PhD degree, and the completion of post-doctoral research at the Medical Genetics and Prenatal Diagnosis Unit at Virgen del Rocio Hospital, Dr. Ruiz's educational acumen has distinguished his work and afforded him the Special Doctoral Prize from the University of Seville (2000). Later working as the Chief Researcher of the REPGENES Project (Ministry of Science and Technology - CIB - CSIC) and as the Group Leader for Europe's GENDISRUPT Project, Dr. Ruiz has been consistent in his display of research innovation, winning the highly coveted 50K prize for the 'Best Business Idea' and the 'Best Business Plan' in the fields of Biotechnology by the International San Telmo Institute.


Currently serving as a member of the Bioinformatics Resource Center for the Human Genome Project, and publishing over forty articles in journals such as The American Journal of Human Genetics, the Journal of Medical Genetics, Human Mutation, Clinical Chemistry, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology, Metabolism, and the Journal of Experimental Medicine, Dr. Ruiz has established a reputation of international renown.

Luis Miguel Real Navarrete, PhD
(Director of Operations)

As a doctor of Biology, specializing in Molecular Biology, Dr. Real's research experience has prepared him well for his work in the field of human genetics. Completing post-doctoral research at the Medical Oncology Service of the Virgen del Rocio University Hospital (1999-2000), and finishing his residency at the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital (1994-1997), Dr. Real's extensive investigation into the biological understanding of human disease states has left him with an unparalleled knowledge of the molecular basis of disease interaction.


As recipient of the Tumor Immunology Research Grant (Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital - 1998), Dr. Real has gained unquestioned skill in designing and executing novel protocols aimed at gaining better understanding of tumor immunology. Recognized in 2001 by Novartis Pharmaceuticals as the author and recipient of the 'Best Spanish Scientific Project in Oncology', Dr. Real's ideas have proved to be pioneering in the medical subset of tumor immunology. Distinguished further, as the winner of the International San Telmo Institute's 50K prize for the 'Best Business Plan' and the Biochemical Society's Prize for work on metabolic disorders, Dr. Real's research has afforded innovation both to NeoCodex and the scientific community at large.


Additionally heralded as the author of over forty articles published in such journals as the International Journal of Cancer, Clinical Chemistry, Experimental Haematology, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Journal of Experimental Medicine, Dr. Real continues to excel in his continuing quest to better understand the molecular basis of human disease.
